Pro Cast: Sports Fishing Game [Xbox]

Fishermen and women (fisherpeople?) too lazy to wake up at 5am to head down to the lake for some strenuous fishing, are in luck. Capcom is bringing Pro Cast Fishing exclusively to Xbox later this year.

Choosing to play as one of three profession fishermen, gamers will compete to become Master Bass Fisherman by snatching the biggest bass possible. Starting with a standard assortment of lures, players must win tournaments to earn cash to buy better lures, improve their boat, and even purchase a lucky fisherman's hat for their noodle.

Snagging bass won't be your only goal, however, as rare fish will also patrol the fishing waters. Nab one of these beauts to unlock bonus features. Those with some serious luck and skill may even nab the ever elusive Mirage fish, whom we here at IGN have already nicknamed "The Big Flopper".

Pro Cast Fishing features three modes of play:

• Arcade Mode -- Players are ranked by the total number of bass they can catch within the time limit of a tournament. Those with mad skill may even crack the Top Ten Bass Fishermen list.
• Free Fishing Mode -- Change the weather and time of day to suit your preference, then loung around on your dingy as you attempt to catch fish and get drunk (not necessarily in that order).
• Simulation Mode -- Enter a variety of tournaments as you compete with stiff competition to see who can catch their weight in bass. Rank high to earn points to use in shops, gather info and tips, and to participate in bigger tournaments.

There's no word yet whether Capcom plans to release a fishing reel controller, but our hope is it will somehow compete with the mammoth 40-button Steel Battalion controller.
