Hellboy: The Science of Evil [PS3]

Hellboy shows his face... again.

Last night, there was a healthy batch of cool games at Konami's press event that we were eager to try out. Although not as hotly anticipated as titles like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Silent Hill Homecoming, Hellboy: The Science of Evil made an appearance at the event and we were intrigued to see how everyone's favorite red-skinned demon was doing. Unfortunately, it looks like not much has changed when we finally got our hands on the playable build.

The content at the press event appears to be the same content we saw at previous showings, including last year's E3. Although minor tweaks and changes may have been made, we still only had access to the game's opening moments that document Hellboy's hot pursuit of a witch that has stolen precious artifacts. Most of the level takes place in a dark forest littered with graves, and that's exactly what we already saw. The game still seemed to run well and offer a good mix of basic combat, gunplay and puzzle solving, but there was really nothing new to note.

Hopefully next time Hellboy is playable, we'll be able to see even more of the upcoming comic book adaptation that will find its way to store shelves on June 24th.
