Halo Wars is a console-based strategy game inspired by the acclaimed Halo series you know and love. Steering clear of first-person shooting action, the game behaves much more like a PC strategy title like Starcraft, albeit with major differences to fit the entirety of its gameplay within the limits of a console controller.
This demo preview shows Halo Wars' features in action, such as the radial "circle menu" that performs most of the actions in the game, including building structures, units, and vehicles. For instance, clicking the vehicle depot opens the circle menu with the vehicles that can be unlocked and built. Though the game focuses strongly on combat, you'll be able to quickly jump back to your base by tapping the D pad on your controller in case you need to build more units or defend your structures.
You'll see many familiar Halo items in play, such as the fishtailing Warthog vehicles, Marine and Covenant characters and weapons, and jumping four-wheelers. Additionally, there will also be plenty of new vehicles and character components at your command.
