SimCity 4 Mayor Contest

My crap hole in Maxis' SimCity 4 isn't all that great, hence it being lovingly described as a crap hole. Ivanberg, as I like to call it, is 75% ghetto and 25% monuments to my greatness. Yes! That's all you really need when you're running a dictatorship and care very, very little about your populous, right? I am clearly not eligible for this latest Maxis contest, but you could be.

If you are indeed confident in your mayoral capabilities and believe you have created a quality town of some significant worth, than Maxis has a contest for you.

"If so, here's your chance to show off your city and possibly win some Maxis prizes! And if you're a winner, we'll also post your city on this website for others to download and see your amazing city building skills!

Send us your city (see criteria below) and Will Wright and our team will judge the city winner. Winner will receive one (1) Electronic Arts game and a cool SimCity 4 Tee-shirt as well as having their winning city posted on our website."

Just make sure you don't pick SimCity 4 as your one free EA game, unless you don't have the title and you stole someone else's map for submission in this contest, of course.

Before you hit the "mail immediately without thinking" button, there are a few things you should know, a few rules that must be followed:

Don't send crap.
Don't send pornographic material.
Don't send pictures of yourself, unless you're an incredibly attractive man or woman.
Use only assets from within the game.
Your city must be medium dimensions (128x128 tiles or 2,048 x 2,048 meters).
Be creative and original.
Take aesthetics into consideration.
Don't cheat.
Have a beginning population of at least 25,000.
Have at least one year of development with no population loss.
Have a positive monthly revenue.
Don't have any dependencies.

Got it all? Excellent! Now, zip up your completed city and send it, along with a single screenshot to SC4WowContest@maxis.com. One entry per email. One!

Don't be lame, make sure you include your user name, email address, saved city file, city name, and screenshot, otherwise Will Wright will come to your house and club you to death with the corpse of a baby seal he clubbed to death earlier. If he doesn't, I will.

The contest starts on the 7th, which is like seven days ago. Whee! Also, it's going to end yesterday. Hahaha! Just kidding, it's going to end on the 21st, so quit your job and start playing SimCity 4 and maybe you'll be the winner. If you're not, you'll find out who is on the 28th, so you'll be able to kill them and take their free EA game on the 29th. It's a win, win situation!
