Despite a late August release, Batman: Arkham Asylum still managed to crack the top 10 list of North American game sales for the month, selling an impressive 600,000 copies combined between Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
But will the game still have legs?
According to an LA Times report, publisher Eidos/Warner Bros. has already shipped roughly 2 million copies worldwide in just over a couple weeks. And the PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum is set for release this week, which will only add to its monthly total.
But with an avalanche of top releases for September, including The Beatles: Rock Band, Guitar Hero 5 and Halo 3: ODST, will Batman make the charts?
Analyst Michael Pachter from Wedbush Morgan Securities told IGN the title should be in the top 5 of sales for September, saying its sales will remain pretty strong after the first week.
Electronic Entertainment Design and Research analyst Jesse Divnich agreed, saying he expects the title to at least make the top 10 for September, with sales of close to 400,000.
