Entire Damnation Dev Team Gets The Axe

This is what happens when you make bad games.

IGN didn't take too kindly to Damnation, and neither did its readers. But as with most poorly reviewed games, some job cuts are to be made. In the case of Codemasters' Damnation, however, the entire Blue Omega Entertainment development staff received pink slips.

What started off as an unconfirmed twitter post last week by programmer Geoff Rowland saying "The entire Blue Omega team was laid off today (well, starting Friday). If anyone has job openings, send them my way and I'll pass them on," the news became official.

These rumors were confirmed by Kotaku citing "issues" with Codemasters, ranging from behind-the-scenes lawsuits, disputes over development, and ultimately poor sales.
