Left 4 Dead 4 Free 4 24 Hours

Valve's online co-op zombie shooter will be free-to-play for a 24 hour trial period starting Friday.

We feel like we harp on quite a bit about Valve's Left 4 Dead. Well, here's a little more harping. Valve PR sent us a note which speaks to the fact that the highly popular and frankly excellent co-op zombie shooter will be able to be played for free for 24 hours. The trial is only available to PC Steam users and will begin this Friday starting at 12:01AM GMT (that's Thursday 4:01PM PST unless we suck at time conversion.)

Beginning Friday at 12:01 am GMT, the PC version of Left 4 Dead will be available for a free 24-hour trial via Steam. The free trial will include access to the recently released Survival Pack DLC, which introduces a new multiplayer game mode and two additional Versus campaigns.

Those who wish to give L4D and the Survival Pack a try may now pre-load everything needed to play with no obligation to purchase. For more information, please visit www.steamgames.com

It's almost like handing out hard drugs to a bunch of people that like hard drugs. Left 4 Dead recently enjoyed the release of its first downloadable content pack; details of which can be found right here.

Bryn says: First it's awesome Team Fortress 2 papercraft, and now it's free shoot-the-infected-in-the-face action. I love you, Valve. Alright, the papercraft wasn't your idea, but I love you anyway.

Hey, while I've got your attention Valve, what's up with the next instalment of Half-Life 2? I gots to get my fix, y'hear?!
