Freedom for World of Warcraft's Death Knights

Latest patch removes class creation restrictions.

Blizzard's latest patch to its massively multiplayer online title, World of Warcraft, allows players who have at least one level 55 character create a Death Knight on any realm. Also changed are the racial restrictions for mounts, which have been removed, which as the patch notes point out means Tauren can ride raptors and Night Elves ride mechanostriders.

Along with a range of changes to classes, quests, and professions, the Strand of the Ancients battleground has been tweaked to include tougher turrets and vehicles, and the Wintergrasp PvP zone received a few adjustments.

Death Knights, Wintergrasp, and the Strand of the Ancients were all added to the game around the launch period for Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion to World of Warcraft that was released in November 2008.
