World of Warcraft Version 3.0.8 Live

A new patch hits live servers, bringing with it tweaks large and small.

World of Warcraft patch 3.0.8 has gone live earlier this morning. Highlights include the loosening of restrictions on Death Knight creation, the outright elimination on racial restrictions for mount use, and the introduction of a slick new launcher.

There have been some notable tweaks to specific classes, particularly Death Knights and Hunters. Death Knights have had some of their most powerful mitigation abilities toned down, particularly Bone Shield (which now absorbs less damage) and Icebound Fortitude (which mitigates less damage by default). Hunters, meanwhile, have seen many specific talents in Beast Mastery, their most popular tree in the current game, reduced in effectiveness. Our own Hunters at GameSpy are looking long and hard at the Survival tree as they begin to reconfigure their talents.

Full patch notes are available at World of Warcraft's official site.
