We've been playing a final version of Far Cry 2 on PC over the last few days for review, and while we can't yet deliver an opinion on the game, we can show you what it looks like. Below you'll find posted a number of direct-feed clips captured as we played through a few missions. There aren't any plot spoilers or anything like that, just a lot of guns, grass fires, explosions, and guys getting hit with bullets.
In case you're unfamiliar with the game, Far Cry 2 is Ubisoft Montreal's sequel to Crytek's original. This time it's set in a sort of condensed version of Africa, and doesn't appear to bear much resemblance to the first title in many ways. Crytek, who you probably know if you follow PC games, went on to make Crysis and the recently released Crysis Warhead, which ran on the developer's CryEngine 2. Ubisoft Montreal created a proprietary engine for Far Cry 2, called the Dunia Engine, which you can see in action below. The game ships next week for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 platforms.
The rig running the game was running Windows Vista 32-bit with a GeForce 8800 GTX 768 MB, an Intel Core 2 Quad at 2.4 GHz, and 2 GB of RAM.
