Alone in the Dark Demo on Xbox Live

Stranded somewhere between indifference and apathy regarding Atari's much maligned Alone in the Dark? You can now make a more informed decision on whether to buy the game or not, with a demo recently landing on Xbox Live.

Developed by Eden Studios of Test Drive Unlimited fame, Alone in the Dark was the victim of a critical mauling when it was released earlier this year, though those with kind hearts acknowledged that beneath the broken controls and shonky visuals were some neat ideas. Our US office branded it with a scornful 3.5, while the UK took a more sympathetic view with a 7.0. We're more inclined to believe the UK review, seeing that the guy who wrote it sits opposite us and sometimes buys us chocolate bars.

The demo features an assortment of scenarios taken from the first two chapters, and should be available for your delectation the next time you boot up Xbox Live.
