More details have emerged around the first original video content for Xbox Live, with the Hollywood Reporter revealing that a team of established horror directors are working on a number of comedy films for Microsoft's service.

Saw's James Wan is joined by 30 Days of Night's David Slade and Slither's James Gunn among others in Safran Digital Group's project that looks to produce short HD films for Xbox Live.

Scott Nocas, Group Product Manager of Xbox Live said "We really wanted to focus on bite-size entertainment pieces, under 10-minute short film pilots that Xbox Live users could jump on and enjoy before they go off and play 'Gears of War 2.' "

Safran Digital Groups CEO Peter Safran said of the deal "Most of these guys know the Xbox demographic are also big fans of horror and the supernatural and realized this was the platform where they should be."
