Mirror's Edge Scribe Revealed

Rhianna Pratchett to pen the story of Faith.

DICE and Electronic Arts today announced that Rhianna Pratchett will be helming both the story design and the script writing for Mirror's Edge, to be released this November. The game tells the story of Faith, a Runner in the world of Mirror's Edge where information is highly monitored by the watchful eye of the 1984ish government. When Faith's sister is framed for a murder she didn't commit, it's up to Faith to clear her name.

"It was a great experience working with the team at DICE to help breath life into Faith; her world, relationships and backstory," said Rhianna Pratchett. "My heroines and heroes have always been the ones who were ordinary, but through the events of a story, became extraordinary. Faith is skilled, but she's certainly not a superhero. She has her flaws, like all of us. In short: she's real. That's her appeal."

Rhianna Pratchett has been in the games industry for more than 10 years and has been nominated and recognized several times for her achievements in such games as Overlord and Heavenly Sword. She has been nominated for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) and Develop Award for her original story ideas.

Mirror's Edge is scheduled to ship in November 2008 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
