GH: On Tour Sets Activision Sales Record

Today Activision announced the first portable entry in the mega-popular Guitar Hero franchise, subtitled On Tour, has been a sales success for the company right out of the gate. In the first week it was available, On Tour sold over 300,000 copies. This is a record for an Activision Nintendo DS title, outperforming any other DS launch from the company by a factor of eight. The first week sales also make it one of the top five launch games in Activision's history.

The company releases a lot of licensed kid-friendly fare on the DS such as Kung-Fu Panda and Madagascar. The more expensive Guitar Hero: On Tour, priced at $50, has outsold them all by far.
