Burnout Paradise Updates

Simon Phipps, Designer at Criterion Games, posted on the official PlayStation Blog today documenting several new features that will be available when the game's third free update, codenamed Cagney, goes live on July 10th. Besides mentioning that the team has been extremely busy with updating Burnout Paradise since its launch in January, Phipps notes that Cagney will introduce three new online modes. Online Stunt Run will have you and seven others competing for a high score, Online Road Rage gives you and your team a chance to stop the opposing team from reaching its destination and Online Marked Man has the whole group hunting down one player.

Phipps also confirms that new vehicles -- including the Hunter Olympus -- will be included in the update, as well as 70 new Online Timed Challenges. Phipps then finishes the list by noting that 1080i support, improved SD rendering and custom soundtracks will also be available when Cagney is released.
