2008 CGS WoW Arena Championship Announced

Top 1,000 arena teams compete for thousands of dollars in the Championship Gaming Series.

Championship Gaming Series, the worldwide professional gaming league, announced the second annual World of Warcraft Arena Championship. This tournament will invite the top 1,000 WoW arena teams from North America and Europe to compete in independent open-ladder matches from June 9 – 22. Prospective teams will recieve tournament-specific accounts. After the weak are weeded out, the top 2 teams from both countries will receive an all expense paid trip to the finals in Los Angeles on July 19. The 1st place team will recieve $25,000, 2nd place earns $12,500, and 3rd/4th get $6,250.

The upcoming tournament will use the same 3 v 3 rule sets as featured in Blizzard's very own 2008 Arena Tournament, and include the same gear and options. Teams not in the top 1,000 can still enjoy the tournament when the event streams live that Saturday on thecgs.com.
