Pokemon Platinum Announced

Nintendo Japan formally announced today the next entry in the Pokemon series. The follow-up to Pokemon Diamond & Pearl will be titled Pokemon Platinum and will be released to Japan this Fall.

Little is known about the sequel at the moment, although Nintendo is promising a number of new elements added to the Diamond & Pearl story, as well as a new form for Girathina, a Pokemon that appeared in the two predecessors.

Platinum has yet to be announced for release outside of Japan, but it seems like a pretty safe bet! Expect to get some sort of confirmation from Nintendo America in the not so distant future.
