Ubisoft Announces Comcast Optimized MLG Multiplayer Map for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2

The Comcast Optimized Map will be available exclusively at GameStop.

Today Ubisoft, one of the world's

largest video game publishers, announces the "Comcast Optimized MLG

(Major League Gaming) Map" for the highly anticipated Tom Clancy's

Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Created by Ubisoft Montreal and sponsored by

Comcast, America's largest residential Internet service provider, the

"Comcast Optimized MLG Map" is an exclusive multiplayer map that will be

available at GameStop stores and GameStop.com while supplies last.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas transformed the way gamers play online

multiplayer games in the current generation of hardware," said Tony Key,

senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. "The Rainbow

Six franchise has been a leader in the world of online multiplayer video

games since 1998, and we are proud to have partnered with Comcast to

create a very exciting and exclusive multiplayer map based on an actual

MLG event for Vegas 2."

The "Comcast Optimized MLG Map" pays homage to the MLG Pro Circuit,

depicting an MLG event at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Made with

exciting choke points and created with competitive gaming in mind, the

optimized map is destined to become a fan favorite.

"Partnering with Ubisoft, MLG and GameStop allows Comcast High-Speed

Internet to build its relationship with hardcore gamers in an innovative

way," said Chris Helle, senior director of marketing, Comcast High-Speed

Internet. "This tech-savvy group fully appreciates the importance of

blazing-fast Internet speeds and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2

release provides a terrific forum for us to reinforce our 'faster' speed

benefit through in-game advertising. In addition, our exclusive 'Comcast

Map' gives us a chance to do something extra for hardcore gamers while

creating positive buzz for the brand."

"Rainbow Six was a terrific addition to our Pro Circuit last year, and

we were thrilled that Ubisoft chose MLG to collaborate on the

development of a map specially designed for competitive gamers," said

Matthew Bromberg, president and CEO of Major League Gaming. "We can't

wait to turn our five million online fans onto this game."

Rainbow Six fans will have the opportunity to showcase their skills on

the "Comcast Optimized MLG Map" by entering an online GameStop

tournament at www.gamestop.com/r6v2 for a chance to win a $10,000 cash

prize. Registration for the tournament ends on April 4, 2008.

Comcast will create awareness for the exclusive map by airing more than

150 30-second TV spots across its networks. The TV commercial showcases

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and announces the tournament.

MLG will administer the GameStop online tournament, support the overall

effort by including Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in their 2008 Pro

Circuit, and create a special release event for the game in April. The

multi-city MLG Pro Circuit, which will be covered by ESPN.com, kicks off

April 11, 2008 at the Meadowlands Expo Center outside of New York City.
