Midway Reveals Limited Edition MK:A

Wii version of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon also announced.

Midway has announced that Mortal Kombat: Armageddon will be coming to Nintendo's new Wii console. While the PlayStation 2 version of MK:A will be ready on October 9 of this year, the Wii version won't be ready until early 2007. Four new limited Premium Editions of MK:A for the PS2 were also announced by Midway.

Each of these special versions of the game is packaged in a metallic cover. The first three covers feature Mortal Kombat characters Sindel and Shao Kahn, Johnny Cage and Goro, and Kano and Sonya. The fourth one is a metallic version of the regular MK:A packaging. These premium editions of the game include the arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, a bonus DVD with more than 60 minutes of video content covering the history of the series, and a piece of animation cel cover art autographed by Ed Boon, one of the creators of Mortal Kombat.

No details were given for the Wii version of MK:A, but Midway promises that more info will be released later in the year.
