Take-Two Interactive Sued by Actor

Roger Hill files a lawsuit over The Warriors.

First the SEC, then the FTC, and most recently the New York grand jury have all been on Take-Two Interactive's case. Now the game publisher is being sued over its videogame adaptation of the 1979 film The Warriors. Roger Hill played Cyrus in the cult flick, and he wants $250,000 from the game company for using his likeness. Hill filed the suit in the Manhattan Supreme Court. An article on the New York Daily News says Hill was once offered to be paid by the game creators for the use of his name and voice, but he turned the deal down. Hill is also seeking a court order to prevent the use of his likeness in the game. The NY Daily News has a quote from a Take-Two Interactive spokesman saying that the publisher "has a valid third-party license for the rights to use Roger Hill's likeness and the character of Cyrus in the Warriors video game and related marketing materials." The Warriors was released for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 last October.
