F.E.A.R. Official for Xbox 360

Alma is scheduled to haunt Microsoft's next-gen console.

One of the best first-person shooters in recent history for the PC is about to come to the Xbox 360. We're talking about Vivendi Games' pants-wetting horror action game, F.E.A.R.. This isn't going to be just some quick direct port of the original game either. Vivendi Games says that the Xbox 360 version will include "brand new single player content designed to immerse the player deeper in the world of the F.E.A.R. team." New multiplayer content which will take full advantage of Xbox Live is also in the pipeline.

F.E.A.R. is an FPS that has you playing as a member of a First Encounter Assault Recon team that is sent out to investigate mysterious paranormal activity. Think of them as like the Ghostbusters only with cooler uniforms and more deadly weaponry. As its newest recruit, you'll test your mettle against a vengeful little undead girl named Alma who looks like she takes fashion tips from Samara, the creepy kid from The Ring movies.

The original game's mix of great NPC AI and bullet-time action made it a hit, and we can't wait to see how it comes through on the Xbox 360. F.E.A.R. is being developed by Day 1 Studios, the same guys behind MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf, with a little help from Monolith Productions, the guys behind the original PC version.
