Madden's New Front Man

EA Sports has picked out its new cover model for Madden NFL 07, and his name is Shaun Alexander. Perhaps you've heard of him. Alexander is the NFL's 2005 MVP and is the running back for the Seattle Seahawks. In EA's official press release, Alexander says, "To be on the cover of Madden NFL 07 is a big milestone in my career since I have always been a huge fan of this franchise... I was honored when I was chosen to be on the cover."

The Madden NFL franchise will soon be 17 years old, and since 2000 all Madden games have featured a star NFL player on the cover. It's no secret that many gamers believe there is a "Madden curse" on all players who appear on the cover of a Madden game. We'll see if Alexander is able to break the cycle. Madden NFL 07 is scheduled to come out this August for all the major platforms as well as the PSP and Nintendo's DS and GBA.
