Out of This World Redux

You could beat it in one sitting and it was small enough to fit on a single floppy disk, yet it captured the imagination of everyone who played it -- and now it's been recreated for today's PCs. The name of the game is Out of This World, also known as Another World in Europe and Australia, and if you missed it back in 1991, you can download a new enhanced version of the game at the official website.

Okay, so it's not much of a remake; all they really did was use the same vectors for the original game and scale them for higher resolutions and add some new background art. It's basically the same game we played 16 years ago, but it's worth checking out just to see how far we've come and how innovative a 16 year-old game can be. The main page is in French, but the download page has been translated. The site promises more translations and updates in the future.
