Assassin's Creed Goes Gold

Altair still plans to attack retailers in November.

Assassin's Creed, the acrobatic adventure game on the way from Ubisoft Montreal, has reached gold status and is on track to meet its scheduled release date.

The game is set for a Nov. 13 release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in both a standard and limited edition. Gamers who pre-order the title at GameStop will receive a bonus Assassin's Creed art book when they pick up their copy.

"We've been working very hard for nearly four years to make Assassin's Creed a reality and now there is a confirmed date when players will get to experience the results of our efforts," said Jade Raymond, the game's producer. "This is a huge event for the team. Our biggest reward will be everyone having a lot of good solid fun."

Assassin's Creed is set in 1191 A.D., when the Third Crusade is tearing the Holy Land apart. You play as Altair, an Assassin tasked with taking out some of the region's most prominent figures.
