Army of Two, the tag-teaming mercenary shooter on the way from Electronic Arts, has been delayed until early 2008, the publisher announced today.
Previously scheduled for a Nov. 15 release for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the co-op-heavy action game is under development at EA's Montreal studio.
Army of Two is an EA original IP that was gearing up for its first showing in a month thick with them. BioWare's Mass Effect, Harmonix's Rock Band and Assassin's Creed (from fellow Montreal-based developer Ubisoft) are all penciled in for November appointments.
In a statement picked up by the Reuters news service today (via Gamasutra), EA said it needs more time to polish the game.
"'Army of Two' has potential to become a lasting EA franchise -- so getting the first title right is essential," said Frank Gibeau, head of EA Games.
