Levine Talks BioShock DLC

Could Rapture returnees get some new plasmids to play with?

Any expansion to BioShock through downloadable content is likely to take the form of combat enhancement or other gameplay tweaks rather than additional areas to explore, according to recent comments by the game's creator, Ken Levine.

The 2K Boston head told Games for Windows Magazine - via 1up - he's not so much interested in using downloadable content to add additional "levels" to the atmospheric underwater shooter. Instead, he'd rather focus on adding depth to the game via new combat methods or other means.

"I'm not a really big fan of expanding things just by linearly adding to the experience, adding a new campaign, as much as I am of enhancing the original experience and adding replayability to that experience," Levine told GFW for its November issue. "I think that certainly BioShock's combat experience is great, but it could be broader. I'm a little more confused as far as how to expand the narrative experience."

Levine also told the mag that "a lot of plasmids got cut" during the game's development. No word just yet on what exact form BioShock's DLC will take or when it may appear.
