A Heavenly Date Down Under

Sony Australia today confirmed that Ninja Theory's combat-tastic PS3 title Heavenly Sword will be arriving in Australia on the 20th of September. That's good news for Aussie PS3 owners, and comes hot on the heels of the game's September 12th American release.

There's a wealth of information about the game already on IGN, but for those of you who want a brief snapshot/refresher course, here it is. Heavenly Sword sees you assume the role of the stunning - and deadly - redhead Nariko on a quest for revenge against an invading king. What does that mean? Combat, and plenty of it. The game literally throws hordes of enemies at you, but thanks to Nariko's deep move set and the impressive levels of environmental interaction, you can quickly and efficiently take them down. Throw in epic set pieces, incredible character models (the faces in particular are amazing) and the involvement of Andy "Gollum" Serkis, who plays the king and was instrumental in the motion capture process, and you have the makings of a classic action game.
