DiRT Confirmed For September

Get ready for a white-knuckle ride.

Today at the IGN office, we received a press release announcing that Codemasters' recent title, DiRT, will be arriving for the PlayStation 3 this September. Codemasters, an international publisher/developer, also has other brands to its name, including Colin McRae Rally, TOCA Race Driver and Operation Flashpoint.

DiRT, which made an initial appearance on PC and Xbox 360 last June, is powered by Codemasters' propriety game engine, Neon, which delivers realistic, detailed and devastating physics for both car models and environments. Codemasters is proud to report that the environments are fully destructible and even the most minor damage effects, down to a small paint scrape, can ravage your car.

DiRT also supports a variety of force feedback steering wheels and several wheels originally designed for the PlayStation 2. This intense off-road experience also boasts 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound.

We'll get back to you with more information as it becomes available.
