Chimera Preps WorldwideTakeover

Global servers for Resistance: Fall of Man go live on June 29.

Brave soldiers, your time has come to take your fight against the Chimera worldwide, with Sony announcing that global servers for Resistance: Fall of Man are set to go live tomorrow (June 29), along with a new map pack.

Originally, the update was planned for early June but last minute problems resulted in this slight delay. Resistance's Global Update enables PS3 owners from different territories to shoot each other in the head - ideal if you've run out of European fodder. However, to prepare for tomorrow's significant update, multiplayer servers will be unavailable between 2am and 6pm (BST) on June 29.

Alongside the Global Update, Sony is releasing a map pack priced at ¿2.99. It contains two new locations, including the snowy slopes of Westmorland and features peculiar Chimeran buildings, plus there's a tunnel-filled underground map based in Camborn. The map pack can be acquired through either the PSN Store or via the download option within the game itself.
