Creed Worldwide in November

Ubisoft confirms Altair's mission for the holidays.

Public appearances and new information have been scarce, but Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed has still been one of the most popular cross-platform games on IGN. With that kind of following, the most common question our mailbags get about it is, "When is it coming out?" And now, we finally have an answer...

November in major territories.

"Assassin's Creed is going to be a huge launch for Ubisoft this year along with the added prestige of being the start of this exciting new franchise that is bringing something completely new to the market," commented Ubisoft's vice president of marketing, Tony Key. "We're confident that Assassin's Creed will exceed expectations as a 'must-have' title this holiday season and will achieve both critical and commercial success."

Expected to ship for Windows PC, Sony's PlayStation 3, and Microsoft's Xbox 360 (console versions will boast standard and "special" editions), Assassin's Creed follows hired sword, "Altair," who has been commissioned to take out warriors on both sides of the 12th century's Third Crusade in an effort to end the war.
