Pirates Games Headed to World's End

Videogame piracy is set to peak in May.

Today Disney Interactive Studios announced that games based on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End will be released across all platforms on May 22, 2007, three days before the opening of the final installment in the Pirates trilogy.

Set in the waters of At World's End and Dead Man's Chest, the Pirates games will put players in control of Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann. Each version of the game will be tailored to fit each console's unique attributes -- the Wii version, for instance, will utilize the Wiimote for swordplay.

"Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise will experience adventures inspired by the second and third films while going far beyond the events of those films," said Craig Relyea, VP of marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. "Our games go beyond the films to introduce legendary pirates, new locations, and unique endings that will satisfy the pirate in each of us."
