Aussie Wins Award for Work With The Don

Cool music and the G.A.N.G.

At last week's 5th Annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards event, Ashley Irwin, an Emmy-winning Aussie arranger/composer and his writing partner, Oscar winner Bill Conti, walked away with the award for "Best Arrangement of a Non-Original Score" for their work on The Godfather. The pair won the award for adapting Nino Rota's famous score from The Godfather movie for the videogame. In his acceptance speech, Irwin stated that working with such iconic music was "a dream job", and that "Nino's haunting melodies and inventive harmonies are uniquely evocative. It only takes a few notes to set the mood". Thanks to Inside Film Magazine for the tip.
