The Force Unleashed Gets Author

Who will be penning this mighty Star Wars opus?

Although the game isn't due for release until November this year, already LucasArts are preparing the hype train. As part of their effort to promote the next Star Wars game, The Force Unleashed, in the same mammoth way as the films were, the company today announced the author of the novel.

The story, which centres on the events of the game, will be penned by long-time science fiction author Sean Williams. Williams will be telling the tale of Darth Vader's secret apprentice who, during the years following Episode III, is vested with doing Vader's dirty work.

According to the official site, the story will "provide fans with a more in-depth story than they will get from the game alone. Although the game features multiple endings, this novel will be one of the only places where fans will be able to find the official "canon" ending -- the definitive conclusion that will mold the events of the Star Wars galaxy for the future."

You can look forward to our in-depth preview and interview on The Force Unleashed in the coming days.
