Virtua Tennis 3 Nets First on 360

1080p support for SEGA's ball whacker.

SEGA today scored an ace by announcing that the upcoming Virtua Tennis 3 will be first game on Xbox 360 run full-fat 1080p high definition graphics. What's more, for the first time in the series' history players will be able to compete against other tennis fans across the globe over Xbox Live.

Indeed, Virtua Tennis 3 will be bursting with online options including ranked and friendly games, as well as exhibition matches and tournaments for both singles and doubles.

Additionally you'll also be able to watch other people play and pick up some tips, much like Project Gotham Racing 3. The all new VT:TV (see what they did there?) real-time spectator mode allows players to view their friends or other top-ranked players compete in tournaments and is a very nifty way of sizing up potential opponents.

"Virtua Tennis 3 on Xbox 360 is definitely the next generation of tennis," claimed Matt Woodley, creative director at SEGA. "We're striving to create games which not only have great gameplay but also can make the very most of the Xbox 360's amazing technology."
