Subsistence Needs You!

Konami is signing recruits for all new, official Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence tournaments for PAL territories.

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced the launch of dedicated online leagues for its popular Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence title for PlayStation 2, allowing European fans of the games to take each other on within officially sanctioned events.

Hosted by French online specialists Games-Services, fans of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence can visit www.MGS3LEAGUE.com and register to take part in special tournaments for prizes, and to see how they fare on a Leaderboard of their peers. The site is multi-lingual for English, French, German, Spanish and Italian users and allows players from all PAL territories to enter. The tournaments will then see players taking on three challenges over a two-week period with exclusive Konami prizes up for grabs.

The social aspect of online gaming is also important to the new site, and players can also establish their own clans and set up tournaments to hone their skills. Player performances in these will then be noted and used to create a definitive league table of the very best players.

The new tournament has been designed to maximize Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence's stunning online modes. Marking the first time a Metal Gear title has enjoyed online capabilities, the game features Death Match, Team Death Match, alongside Capture, Rescue and Sneaking Missions, each with their own set of goals. Up to eight players can play online at once, with the tournaments giving players a chance to talk to like-minded fans via the game's 'Voice Chat' system. Registered players can also get in contact with other players via the site's forums, allowing for the exchange of tips and tactics within a friendly environment.
