Capcom Nabs San Andreas in Japan

The popular publisher will localize the game for the region.

Today Rockstar Games announced a partnership with Capcom to localize, publish, and distribute Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PlayStation 2 in the land of the Rising Sun. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was the subject of much controversy when it released in America two years ago. The game was the center of anti-videogame legislation due to its violent and sexually suggestive content. Just how exactly Japanese consumers react to the game remains to be seen.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is scheduled for release in Japan in January 2007.
