Carmelo Anthony Protects his Homecourt

NBA Street has a new cover boy.

LeBron may have more commercials and Dwayne Wade was the first to nab an NBA title, but Carmelo Anthony is the undisputed king of EA covers. Today, EA announced Carmelo Anthony would be featured on the cover of NBA Street Homecourt, his third EA cover. Previously Carmelo was featured on the covers of NCAA March Madness 2004 and NBA Live 2005. He's the first athlete to ever appear on the cover of all three EA basketball titles.

"I credit a lot of who I am today as a player to my days playing on the streets in Baltimore," said Carmelo Anthony. "My homecourt in Baltimore will always be a part of who I am, because that's where I gained the skill and desire that has made me successful in basketball. NBA Street Homecourt represents real street basketball and the place where it all started for me."

The first next-gen NBA Street sports a brand new engine and a redesigned control system which allows players to create eye-popping dekes and jams on the fly. The goal of your created character is to work your way up the street ranks to eventually challenge 'Melo on his homecourt.

NBA Street Homecourt arrives on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the first half of 2007.
