Sims Pets Populate Retail Shelves

EA's popular franchise is getting hairy.

Electronic Arts announced today that it has shipped The Sims 2 Pets for PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and as a PC expansion pack for the award-winning PC title, The Sims 2 to retail shelves across North America.

Along with being able to choose from a variety of real breeds of animals, God Complex-indulging Sims 2 fans can create their own custom varmint. The critters will then enter your Sims 2 virtual environments where they can be trained, played with, outfitted, and accessorized.

In North America, The Sims 2 Pets will be available on Nintendo DS by November 2, on GBA by November 9 and on the PSP system by November 30. In France and the United Kingdom, The Sims 2 Pets will be available on Nintendo DS by October 27.
