Okami Sails to Shelves

Ahoy! Capcom shipped the anticipated PlayStation 2 exclusive Okami to stores today. This is the first original title from Clover Studios, which spawned from Capcom Production Studio 4. Previously, the team has seen continued to plunder with the acclaimed Viewtiful Joe series.

This here be an action adventure title infused with Japanese folklore with traditional Japanese art style, to be sure 'tis a beautiful thing to behold.

Okami tells the story of a mythical sun god who must destroy the forces of evil and restore life to a dismal world. As salty dog/wolf sun god Amaterasu, players will travel through different regions of the world, generating life with every paw-step, to regain "Celestial Brush" powers. Various brush strokes can solve puzzles, create pathways, chop down trees, or turn night into day. Okami boasts a real-time fighting system with assorted brush techniques and special attacks.

Okami has a suggested retail price of $39.99 ducats.
