NFL Draft

Sit back and enjoy the ride, big boy. You've earned it. All you can do now is wait to here which NFL team wants you suited up on its sideline next season (please don't let it be the Cowboys).

Training Camp

Now that all the commotion has died down, it's time to play football. This is where you finally get to play from the perspective of the position you've chosen. As a running back, you'll not only hit holes with force, but you'll pick up the blitz, pass block and run routes. As a corner, you'll man-up on your team's best wide-out. As a kicker, you'll kick. Training camp is where you learn you position, running random plays against opposing units on your team. Depending on the success of each play, your influence with the team will fluctuate.

Preseason Games

While the score doesn't mean a thing, preseason is a great place to affect your influence with the team. Play hard here and it will pay off later in the year.

Practice

Three times a week, you'll hit the training facility for practice. Identical to training camp, you can practice a number of different plays or select random plays. Of course, you also build influence for the upcoming game.

Regular Season Games

Welcome to the big show. Sunday afternoons is when you'll prove your mettle. The coaches call the plays, so be ready -- your number could be called at any time. When your unit is off the field, you look-on from the sideline. Luckily, the game moves at about double speed so you can get back on the turf as soon as possible. There's also the option to play the other side of the ball from the traditional Madden perspective, if you so desire.

Postseason

It may take a few seasons, but hopefully you'll see the crazed atmosphere that is the NFL Playoffs. You've built influence all year, evolving into a team leader or a loan-wolf statistical stud. Will it be enough to earn a ring? That's the question you'll answer here.

Pro Bowl

Pack up your golf clubs. You are going to Hawaii. If you played well enough, you'll get the start. Otherwise you'll watch from the sidelines as the best player from your conference

Off-season

Take the time to hire and fire agents, interview with the press for the upcoming season and sign contracts. But most importantly, take some time off. You've been working hard all year. This is also a great time to check your Hall of Fame status and check the emails from your parents, coaches and friends that you've ignored all year. Feeling burned out? Call you agent and announce your retirement.

Hall of Fame

During your career, you watched legends like Brett Favre finish out their careers and make the Hall. Now it's your turn. After a distinguished career, you've been honored with your enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. No five-year waiting period here. You are the man. So enjoy retirement and create a new Superstar.
