E3 2006: Konami Readies New Winning Eleven

The company adds X360 and the DS to the soccer roster.

It may not be shocking, but that doesn't keep it from being a delight: Konami today announced Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007, the latest entry in the company's soccer franchise.

The new Winning Eleven adds faster gameplay, better controls, and sharpened A.I. The game will support intelligent runs without the ball, and players show more physicality -- defenders jockey for position and strikers work to turn opponents. Shooting and volleys are also being refined.

The title also offers game modes such as International Challenge, Random Selection Match, and an expanded Master League mode. Winning Eleven will also feature new teams, including Argentina, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden.

Look for Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 to reach stores next January for PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and the PC.
