MLB 2K6 Strikes Gold

2K Sports announced today that Major League Baseball 2K6 is officially gold for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game is now considered code-complete and will enter manufacturing for its April 11 ship date.

Along with updated rosters, for this iteration MLB 2K6 offers the new Swing Stick swinging mechanic, Payoff Pitching, Inside Edge technology, Pure Motion Physics, World Baseball Classic Mode, new catcher mechanics, and commentary featuring Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.

As a treat for music nerds, MLB 2K6 offers a hip soundtrack including music from Stephen Malkmus, Pavement, Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai and Guided By Voices -- which nearly empties the curret roster at Matador Records. We're keeping Yo La Tengo for ourselves.
