Battlefield 2 to Fight in April

EA moves the war forward a month and confirms a March demo release.

Electronic Arts announced today it has delayed the arrival of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for Xbox 360. The title will now ship on April 11, rather than March 15 as originally planned.

An EA spokesperson explained that the delay is not due to development issues, but rather is intended to give the first-person war-fest the "best possible launch window" on Microsoft's new system. EA says the game is complete and in final stages of testing.

While the wait may sting gamers looking forward to Digital Illusions' next-generation offering, EA also said it plans to release a Battlefield 2 demo via Xbox Live in mid-March, which should keep would-be soldiers busy until the full war erupts in April.
