Chibi Robo Marches into Stores

Nintendo's diminutive helpmate is now operational.

Nintendo announced today that Chibi Robo -- the miniature robot adventure for the GameCube -- is now cheerfully stomping into North American stores.

In Chibi Robo, players control a 4-inch-tall robot as he goes about cleaning house, chatting with colorful toys, and blasting robotic spiders. To help in his duties, Chibi can use a number of suits to enhance his abilities -- such as scaring people with a ghost outfit or communicating with the family dog. Regardless of what he's wearing, Chibi Robo must be mindful of time: he only has so much power available before he has to plug in and recharge.

"Chibi-Robo represents a great blending of American and Japanese pop-culture sensibilities," said Nintendo's George Harrison. "Its freewheeling approach lets players progress at their own pace while they explore a huge, adventure-filled world."
