Killzone: Liberation Details Revealed

Third-person game continues the fight against the Helghast.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) and Guerrilla announced today details of the upcoming Killzone: Liberaton action game for the PSP.

The game will pick up immediately after the events of the original Killzone with ISA troops still heavily engaged in the fight against the Helghast invaders. Players will reprise the role of Templar as you undertake a covert operation to resuce hostages being held captive by Mertac, a ruthless Helghast general.

According to Hermen Hulst, Guerrilla Managing Director, Killzone: Liberation is "totally unique" and offers PSP owners a "different Killzone experience" while staying true to what made the original game "such a great success - the characters, weapons, style and a continuation of the same great plot." In addition, the game will feature an "intelligent third-person camera system" that is specially suited for portable gaming.

While no official release date was announced, the game is tenatively scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2006.
