Resident Evil 4: The Gun

As if the Resident Evil 4 chainsaw controller wasn't enough, Capcom has announced another real-world weapon for the PlayStation 2 version of one of this year's finest titles. In Japan, those who pre-order Resident Evil 4 for the PS2, set for release on 12/1, will get, believe it or not, a model hand-gun!

Capcom will give away one of four hand gun models with the game. The gun models, which are made of metal and look frighteningly like the real thing, will ship in an attaché case modeled after the case that appears in the game. While Leon's hand gun is pictured above, purchasers won't know which gun they'll be getting.

No, Capcom hasn't totally gone bonkers. The hand gun model is only 1/5 scale, so it's doubtful anyone would mistake it for the real thing. But this is still something that clearly wouldn't fly on our shores.
