Fatal Frame III to Stores

Spooky survival horror game ships to retail.

Tecmo's PlayStation 2 exclusive, Fatal Frame III: The Tormented, has shipped to retail across North America.

According to official materials, "In Fatal Frame III, players take on the role of Rei Kurosawa, a woman haunted by guilt and horrifying nightmares as the result of a car accident that proved fatal for her fiancé. Armed against the supernatural with the mystical Camera Obscura, Rei and her friends Kei and Miku, also playable characters in the game, must solve the mystery of Rei's growing tattoo before she is lost forever to her nightmares."

Andrea Frechette, marketing manager at Tecmo: "Inspired by firsthand experiences with the supernatural, Fatal Frame's trademark Camera Obscura defense puts the player face to face with horrifying ghosts. When not battling ghosts head-on, Fatal Frame III's subtle audio and unearthly visuals will give players the unsettling feeling that the ghosts in the game are not the only ones surrounding them."

Fatal Frame III is rated M for Mature by the ESRB and carries an MSRP of approximately $50.
