GUN Targets Retail

Neversoft's foray into the West officially begins.

Activision announced today that Wild West action-adventure GUN is now kicking ragged trails to retailers. Neversoft's latest title, a gunslinging departure from the developer's famous Tony Hawk games, is now available for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. An Xbox 360 version should arrive next week.

In GUN, players are Colton White, a vengeful gunslinger walking the line between good and evil in the Western outlands of the late 1800s. In a quest to discover who killed his father, White travels through desert, mountain wilderness, and territorial towns -- and, of course, roughs up troublemakers on the way.

"GUN transports players back to a time in American history when laws were virtually non-existent and the only true friend was a gun," said Activision's Dusty Welch. "Players will be drawn into an epic free roaming action-adventure that will have them on the edge of their seats as they brave the elements and battle challenging enemies through the backdrop of the American West."

GUN is rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB.
