Producer Koji Igarashi (Iga) has just unleashed the latest chapter in his ongoing Castlevania series, as Castlevania: Curse of Darkness has shipped to retailers throughout North America. Available for both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, Curse of Darkness puts players in the role of Hector -- one of two Devil Forgemasters who once trained under Dracula, but who has since left his master after doubting his principles. The other Forgemaster and Hector's former friend Issac, however, begins the game by hunting the rogue agent down and killing Hector's beloved. This sets off a chain of events that sends players on their quest to kick Isaac's teeth into the next century and to bring even more hurt on the infamous Castle Dracula.
"Castlevania: Curse of Darkness tells a captivating tale of betrayal and revenge. However, in an interesting twist, this installment does not purely focus on the struggle between the Belmonts and Dracula, but instead concentrates on two new characters from Dracula's inner sanctum," says Matt Knoles, Product Manager, Konami Digital Entertainment- America. "This story shift has given the series new dimension and has allowed the development team to add incredible new gameplay features and character abilities that have never been seen before in the Castlevania series."
