Castlevania: Curse of Darkness contains many RPG elements that make it more than just a simple hack-and-slash adventure. Not only is your character's stats upgraded every time you gain enough experience to raise a level, but you can manage how your Innocent Devils evolve and gain experience, who are there to help you throughout the game as your essential sidekicks. And not only that, but you're able to create new items, weapons, armor and more from raw materials that you collect from slaying the game's vast assortment of creatures.
The materials range in nature from things like bronze and aluminum to Wild Memory, stone fragments with ancient memories carved on them, Jet Black and more. By using the game's Combine menu, you're able to forge swords, axes, spears, hand-to-hand weapons, helmets, armor and a miscellaneous groups of items listed under Etc. Most items require at least two material types to create, and some even require the existence of a different item. So in order to make one type of helmet, you might need to combine a weaker type of helmet along with a certain material or two.
Here are nearly a dozen items that you're able to forge in the early segment of the game. We've listed the item name, its rating, what materials or items are required to produce it along with an image of said item in-game. Each item in the game has an item number, which we have yet to figure out the significance of since we've seemed to acquire somewhat random numberings. Have fun storming the castle.
